FREQUENTLY
ASKED
QUESTIONS

What should I wear for my session?

We ask all clients to please wear lightweight, moisture-wicking active wear or swimwear. This helps to reduce the water wastage when getting in & out from the ice bath.

What should I bring?

  • 2 towels. 1 for the sauna in between ice baths, and 1 to dry yourself with at the end. If you forget your towel, we have some available to hire for $5.

  • Water

  • Clothes to change into

  • Wet towel &. clothes bag

Do I need to do anything before my session?

Please ensure you have washed off any perfumes, lotions, oil & tanning products. These leave a greasy film on the surface of the water in the ice baths and can make the session for yourself and other guests uncomfortable. This also ensures people with sensitive skin or allergies aren’t affected.

Drink plenty of water and ensure you’re hydrated.

Quickly rinse off in the showers before your session starts. This ensures any sweat or excess products on your skin are cleared.

You will also need to ensure your waiver form is signed and dated at the time of booking to acknowledge the Head 2 Heal policies and guidelines before attending your appointment.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to give yourself enough time to get ready and organised, and to ensure you start your session on time. If you are late, unfortunately, we cannot credit that time as it will affect scheduled appointment times and clients for the rest of the day.

Where can I park?

We have plenty of free parking spaces available at the front of the facility.

Can I use the ice baths if I’m menstruating?

Yes, of course! We just ask that you please wear the appropriate sanitary items for the duration of your session. Pads are unable to be used in the ice baths.

Are there facilities for me to shower after my session?

Yes. We have two shower rooms, an open-air shower, and two unisex bathrooms for you to use during your session. There is also shelving for you to place your personal belongings.

How often should I do an ice bath & sauna session?

That is completely up to the individual. Research suggests that 11 minutes in the ice bath and 57 minutes in the sauna per week can provide optimal results.

Will someone be there to help instruct me for my session?

Yes. If this is your first time at Head 2 Heal Recovery, you will have one of our qualified coaches there to guide you through your session. This is to ensure your comfort and safety. If you have used our facility before and feel like you don’t need an instructor there with you, please let us know prior to your session. Whilst we are able to provide you with space, we will be coming through every 10/15 minutes for a safety and well-being check.

Do you accept walk-in appointments?

No, all bookings must be made online. No walk-in appointments will be accepted. This is because we cannot guarantee availability as there are caps on how many people can be using the sauna and ice baths at any one time. If you would like a last-minute appointment, please give us a call on 0481 977 994 and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Can I wear my jewellery?

We ask all jewellery and watches be taken off prior to your session. This is for your safety. As the sauna sits at 95c, any items will get extremely hot very quickly and can cause damage to yourself and your personal belongings.
